Q: Do I need to exfoliate?
A: Exfoliation is vital in attaining the best results with any serum. Exfoliating the skin will get rid of any dead skin cells which may form a layer that blocks the serum from penetrating deep into the layers of the skin. Exfoliating is ESSENTIAL.
Q: How often should I exfoliate?
A: Exfoliating 3-5 times in a 7 day week should suffice.
Q: Do I have to use moisturizer?
A: Moisturizing is just as important, if not more, as exfoliating. When using our products, it is necessary to use a moisturizer to achieve maximum results. Our vitamin C serum can be drying to the skin because of vitamin c’s natural exfoliating properties. Hyaluronic acid works by binding moisture to the skin, so using a moisturizer will lock in and hydrate the skin.
Q: How much serum should I use?
A: Our serums are potent, so a little drop goes a long way. Using too much can dry out the skin, a thin layer of our serum is all that’s needed.
Q: In what order should I be applying my other skincare products with my serums?
A: 1. Cleanse face
2. Exfoliate
3. Apply toner
4. Apply a thin layer of our serums, allow to dry
5. Apply any other skincare products you may use
6. Apply eye serum
7. Apply moisturizer
Q: What's the difference between the Hyaluronic Acid Serum and the Vitamin C Serum?
A: The vitamin C serum stimulates collagen production that helps with plumping the skin and reducing wrinkles, helps protect skin from environmental damages, such as free radical damage and UVA/UVB rays, helps with cell regeneration, gives skin an evened-out complexion, lightens skin discoloration such as dark spots and age spots, and gives the skin a brighter and younger apperance.
The hyaluronic acid (HA) serum is a hydrating serum in which it forms an air permeable layer and penetrates into the dermis, thus boosting the elasticity and hydration of the skin as it acts as a "water-reservoir" for skin cells by binding water within the intercellular structure of the skin. The protective layer on the skin locks in moisture, which gives skin the youthful appearance. Our hyaluronic acid also aids in the production of collagen.
Q: When will I see results with the Hyaluronic Acid serum and Vitamin C serum?
A: You should be seeing light changes in the texture of your skin after the first few uses, and continual to noticeable changes within 2-3 weeks. Skin care products can take at least a month to start showing any results, and if the skin is more mature then it will take longer. Damage on the skin did not incur over night, therefore, reversing the damage will not happen over night.
Q: Can I use a retinol or Retin-A with these serums?
A: Our serums are compatible with Retin-A and retinol moisturizers. These products heavily exfoliate the skin, and prepare the foundation for our serums to take full effect. If using Retin-A: First apply our serum, then the Retin-A, and lastly followed by your moisturizer. If using a retinol moisturizer: First apply our serum, and then followed with your retinol moisturizer.
Q: Can the serums be used around the eye area?
A: Yes, of course. Our serums are very nourishing and effective for the delicate skin around the eyes.
Q: Should I be using your serum morning and night?
A: Our serums can be used morning and night. However, if we had to pick one over the other, applying our serums at night would be the most beneficial choice. At night, when you rest, your skin is regenerating and healing itself. For example, you can use our HA serum and Vit C at night, and just use our Vit C serum in the day.
Q: What kind of Vitamin C derivative do you use?
A: We use Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (SAP), which is proven to be much more stable than the commonly used derivative, L Ascorbic Acid. LAA is highly unstable and will lose its potency very quickly. Our SAP formulation is much more potent and stable, meaning a longer shelf life without any harsh preservatives that are usually put in with LAA. Our serums are made in fresh batches in small quantities to ensure freshness and potency.
Q: What percentage strength is the HA serum?
A: Our HA concentration strength is 5%.
Q: What percentage strength is the Vitamin C serum?
A: Our vitamin C serum concentration strength is 20%.
Q: Can I use the Revitalize Eye Serum on my face?
A: Our eye serum may also be used on the face to help moisturize.
Q: How often should I derma roll?
A: We suggest derma rolling on the face once every 3-4 weeks, remembering to roll in every direction at least 10 times; vertically, horizontally, and diagonally. For the body, you may derma roll once every 2-3 weeks, and in every direction.
Q: How can I lessen the pain with derma rolling?
A: Derma rolling hurts! For those who find the pain from derma rolling intolerable, we suggest buying a numbing agent at your local drugstore. Simply slather a generous amount of the agent on your face and leave it on 10 minutes. Once your face is numb, rinse and clean your face, and then begin derma rolling.
Q: How much pressure should I use while derma rolling?
A: Slight pressure is needed when derma rolling, but on the contrast you definitely do not want to force the needles into your skin. Simply use an appropriate pressure similar to the pressure you would use to pinch yourself.
Q: How do I clean my derma roller?
A: Step 1: Pour rubbing alcohol into roller container and submerge roller. Let both, roller and container, disinfect in the alcohol for 5 minutes.
Step 2: Pour out rubbing alcohol and run container and roller under hot water.
Step 3: Fill sink with hot water, add a tablespoon of bleach, then place roller and container in. Leave for 5 minutes.
Step 4: Take roller and container out, rinse with cold water, and then dry it off. Place roller back in container.
Q: When will I see results from using the derma roller?
A: The effects from using the derma roller is gradual, and not something you will see overnight. You must depend on your bodies natural rate of regenerating your skin cells, but you will see results in the end! Good luck derma rolling.
** Results may vary from person to person.
Q: Can I use them [face serums] around the eye area or do I have to get the eye [serum] one also? and do I really need the Vitamin C one if the Hyaluronic one has vitamin C in it? and should I get the Hyaluronic one or the Retinol one is I have to pick just one?
A: Yes our serums can be used around the eye area, and you don't necessarily need the eye serum, but it also depends what you are treating. The eye serum directly combats fine lines, help with wrinkles and dark circles, and most importantly hydrates the area around the eyes. Hydrating the area around your eyes help with fine lines not to crease. In addition, the vitamin c serum and hyaluronic acid serum both have different purposes, although they are much alike. The vitamin c serum has a stronger percentage and amount of vitamin c than our hyaluronic acid serum. In addition, our hyaluronic acid serum has a higher amount of hyaluronic acid. Depending on your needs, if your skin has dark spots, sun spots, wrinkles and has loss it's elasticity then the vitamin c serum is suitable for you. If your skin is dry, has wrinkles as well as loss of elasticity then the hyaluronic acid serum is for you. The vitamin c serum combats more for aging skin with sun damaged skin, while the hyaluronic acid combats dry and aging skin. The retinol serum is a serum that is very potent in anti aging and is also sensitive in the sun, so sunscreen is a must. We usually recommend the retinol serum to clients who have more mature skin and are looking for something more focused solely on anti aging. You can definitely first start out with one serum instead of the whole set! We have clients that use the hyaluronic acid serum in the day, with the vitamin c serum and retinol at night.
